About Lovell International Camps
The Lovell family owned and operated the prestigious John F. Kennedy International School and Summer Camp in Saanen-Gstaad, Switzerland for over 40 years. In 2011 the family decided to separate the school and summer camp and create Lovell International Camps AG. Lovell Camps have expanded its recreational and learning opportunities by opening up a winter camp program which offers a wide variety of winter sport activities and language classes for boarding and day campers as well as groups.
Throughout the years there has been a positive, ongoing association with families and staff members. Lovell Camps is very much a ‘word of mouth’ organization, with the result that, every summer and winter, we welcome new campers and counselors who are friends, brothers, sisters, cousins and now even children of former students.
Some key features help to make our camps so successful: the family-like atmosphere, the opportunity to learn or to practice English, French and German, the structured, well-supervised program, and, of course, the experience of a lifetime in the Swiss Alps! Our highly-qualified staff members make the difference between a good camp experience and a great one.
The first concern of our program directors and counselors is always the welfare and happiness of each child. All of us here at Lovell Camps do everything possible to ensure that each child thinks of camp as a time to have fun, to make new friends, to improve their sports skills, and to learn new things - about the world, about other cultures, and about him or herself.
Where is Schönried?
By car, the camp is easily accessible. They are approximately 1 3/4 hours from Geneva, 1 1/2 hours from Bern, and 2 1/2 hours from Zurich. By train, there are good connections from Geneva to Schönried via Montreux or from Zürich via Bern, Spiez and Zweisimmen.
We have three campuses situated in Ski Resorts in the Swiss Alps near the border with Italy and France.
The major commercial airport close to our Lovell campuses is the Geneva International Airport, plus many small private airports. Our drivers and camp monitors can meet students at the airport and escort them in private Lovell buses to the camp for a stress free week for you.
For younger campers who may be travelling alone the “Unaccompanied Minor” service, offered by most airlines, ensures your son/ daughter will be assisted throughout the airport and will be signed over to a member of Lovell staff so that you can be assured they have arrived safely, without any undue stress.
At the end of the week we help students to check into their flight, pass security successfully and, for unaccompanied minors, we stay with the students at the gate until time for boarding.

Ski and snowboard instruction are combined with enriching programs which allow campers to participate in a number of different activities including: indoor-rock climbing, arts and crafts and a number of sports and games. The same instructors provide the lessons on and off of the mountain therefore, much personal care and attention is given to each child. Children feel comfortable and well looked after by our highly qualified staff. The winter camp also offers children the opportunity to learn or to improve their language skills. Throughout our courses we follow a clear structure for progression so students are aware of their current levels of performance and their areas for improvement.
At the end of each trip we like to celebrate the achievements of each of our students with a prize giving evening. It is a chance for them to have a final group photo with their instructor, receive their certificates and to hear the much-anticipated ski and snowboard race results from the week. We also show a slideshow.
